Bar Graph:
When numerical data is presented as columns on a graph, then this graphical representation of data is called a bar graph. In a bar graph bars of uniform width can be drawn horizontally or vertically with equal spacing between them and the length of each bar represents the given value or data.

Steps in construction of Bar Graphs / Column Graph:
Step 1: On a graph, draw two lines perpendicular to each other, intersecting at O (Origin). The horizontal line is x-axis and vertical line is y-axis.
Step 2: Along the horizontal axis, choose the uniform width of bars and uniform gap between the bars and write the names of the data items whose values are to be marked.
The bar chart shows the number of handphones sold by a shop in 5 days of a certain week. The difference between the highest number and the lowest number of handphones sold is 15. Find the number of handphones sold in Thursday.
